Our Story
We think people take better photos when they stop trying to get the shot. Somewhere between the perfect angle, the retake, and the caption already being drafted in someone's head, the moment they were trying to capture slips by unphotographed. They were too busy documenting it to actually be in it.
That's the whole reason Snapshot Collective exists. We're not trying to build a better camera app, a sharper sensor, or a bigger screen. We're trying to build the opposite of a phone: something small, deliberate, and easy to forget you're using, so you can go back to actually being in the moment instead of managing it.
What We Believe
- Not every memory needs to be content. Some photos are just for you.
- Getting out of your phone shouldn't require more effort than staying in it.
- The best photos are the ones you weren't trying too hard to take.
Our Design Philosophy
We build things to feel like film, not like tech. Even the small details, like how a color is named, come from the darkroom rather than a marketing color chart: safelight red, flashbulb yellow, contact sheet grey, cyanotype blue. It's on purpose. Photography used to be slower, more deliberate, and a little bit of a surprise, and we think it should still feel that way.
